The Casa JS arises from a very narrow and elongated plot, with only seven meters of buildable width. This geometric condition becomes an opportunity to project a linear and compact housing, resolved entirely on the ground floor. A large reinforced concrete pergola formworked with pine board, that connects the house with the terraces and the open parking, articulates the whole and gives the project its identity, generating at the same time solar control and an effect of lightness that contrasts with the robustness of the material.
The interior organization sequences the spaces of the most public —lobby, cocina, living room and office—to the most private, with bathrooms, bedrooms and a master suite with dressing room, own bathroom and intimate terrace. The traditional hallway is reinterpreted as a large linear storage unit that structures circulation and frees up the rest of the rooms..
Linearity is diluted thanks to the large windows that seek the views and a skylight that provides double height to the living room. Light timber frame construction, the use of noble materials such as manual brick and zinc, and Passivhaus certification guarantee energy efficiency, interior comfort and long-term sustainability.
