The rehabilitation of the School Children's Lady of Arintero in León, addresses the interior renovation of one of the buildings with the highest architectural quality in the city. The intervention is precise and respectful of the existing architecture, and focuses on improving accessibility, the use and spatial experience of the complex.

The building is the result of the architectural competition won in 1998 by Madrid architects Javier Fresneda y Javier Sanjuan, that transformed an old industrial complex into a contemporary public facility. Our intervention, developed in 2025, incorporates the accessibility universal to the planta superior of the pavilion through a large ramp exterior, redefines interior communications with the creation of a double-height atrium and is completed with the comprehensive renovation of facilities, finishes and thermal envelope.

The reform enhances the existing double heights, reorganizes circulation and simplifies routes. Improving natural light, along with a careful selection of materials, generates brighter spaces, claros y adecuados al uso infantil.

The action also extends to outdoor spaces, reinforcing the relationship between interior and environment and giving rise to a more accessible school, functional and bright.
